Climbing in Australia is fantastic. There are a multitude of climbing locations along the east coast that offer some of the worlds best climbing, and although I can't say I've experienced it all (yet), it's certainly the drive behind the reason to create this site.
Whether you're from overseas, or nestled happily in the suburbia of Sydney, then you'll be able to enjoy the highly varied styles that climbing in Australia has to offer.
More specifics on the weather of each location will be given under the sub-headings, and the areas indicated in bold are the major places where you'll find a majority of the climbs. Some of the plain text bullet points are smaller crags that we've still found to be quite notable if you're looking for a slightly more quiet day out.
The weather in NSW/ACT can get very hot during the summer (>40 degrees celcius) and quite cool in winter, especially in the mountains (<5 degrees celcius).
Whilst I won't be able to put up information on all of the locations individually I'll try to give you a good idea of the feel of the area and how our trip went. I'm not trying to compete with the rest of the sites out there for topo's - if you want to find topo's then there are plenty on the internet (and I'll link them), but also please help support the locals who put the bolts in the wall and ensure climbing is safe for the rest of all of us, and pitch in to grab a guidebook. It's a good thing to have whilst you're down here, especially if you're sapped of internet, and it serves as fantastic memorabilia from a worthwhile trip.

Do you have more information that you can provide about your local climbing area, including gyms or outdoor areas where you know there is climbing already? Let us know here so we can build a comprehensive database of climbing locations.
